Project Details: As generative AI transforms workplaces, the Commonwealth is taking a proactive, employee-centered approach to exploring its potential in government. From March 2024 to March 2025, approximately 175 employees across multiple agencies engaged in a structured pilot of ChatGPT Enterprise to better understand where, when, and how these tools may be used in their day-to-day work.

Rather than simply adopting AI, the Commonwealth is studying its real-world impact through employee experiences, gathering insights on what worked, what didn’t, and how to responsibly integrate AI into government operations.
